Split lock washers are a coiled, hardened, split circular washer with a slightly trapezoidal wire section. Split lock washers provide a hardened bearing surface, creating more uniform torque control. They help provide more uniform load distribution and resist loosening caused by vibration & corrosion. Split lock washers are the preferred lockwasher for use with hardened bearing surfaces. 316 stainless steel split lock washers are corrosion resistant.
