When a screw or bolt reaches the collar, the threads and nylon form a tight frictional fit, restricting movement between the nut and bolt or screw when subjected to vibration. Nylon insert lock nuts are designed to be used with like-material machine screws and bolts. 18.8 stainless steel nylon insert lock nuts are corrosion resistant.
