5/8"-18 Nylon Insert Lock Nuts, Thin Pattern, Fine Thread, Light Hex, Steel, Zinc Plated

Nylon insert lock nuts are a hex nut with a nylon filled collar at its back end. When a screw or bolt reaches the collar, the threads and nylon form a tight frictional fit, restricting movement between the nut and bolt or screw when subjected to vibration. Thin pattern nuts are identical to standard pattern nylon insert lock nuts, but not as thick from top to bottom. Nylon insert lock nuts are designed to be used with like-material machine screws and bolts, thin pattern nuts are used when an insufficient number of projecting threads are present to used a standard nylon insert nut.
