Immune to hydrogen assisted stress corrosion cracking (HASCC)
Higher corrosion resistance compared with carbon steel and 410 series stainless steel fasteners GB coating provides improved corrosion resistance as well as enhanced galvanic compatibility in dissimilar metal applications, including those involving aluminum, compared with bare stainless fasteners and those with standard zinc plating
Fasteners coated with Stalgard® GB typically show no base metal corrosion on significant surfaces after 500 hours of salt spray exposure in accordance with ASTM B117
