Stainless Steel Self-Drilling Screws
Alumi-Flex structural drill screws are 300 series (18-8) stainless steel self-drilling tapping screws. The screw body is entirely stainless steel and can be an excellent solution for fastening to aluminum
when corrosion resistance and galvanic reaction are a primary concern.
GENERAL APPLICATIONS AND USES
- Curtain Walls
- Rainscreen
- Window walls/glazing
- Solar panel systems
- For fastening to aluminum only
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- Immune to hydrogen assisted stress corrosion cracking (HASCC)
- Higher corrosion resistance compared with carbon steel and 410 series stainless steel fasteners
- Stalgard® GB coating provides improved corrosion resistance as well as enhanced galvanic compatibility in dissimilar metal applications, including those involving aluminum, compared with
bare stainless fasteners and those with standard zinc plating - Fasteners coated with Stalgard® GB typically show no base metal corrosion on significant surfaces
after 500 hours of salt spray exposure in accordance with ASTM B117 - Head marked with a "3" for easy identification (undercut flat head screws do not have a head marking)
APPROVALS AND LISTINGS
- International Code Council, Evaluation service (ICC-Es), ESR-4374
- Compliant with the International Building Code/Internation Resiential Code: 2021 IBC/IRC, 2018 IBC/IRC, 2015IBC/IRC and 2012 IBC/IRC
- Los Angeles Building Code (LABC) and Los Angeles Residential Code (LARC) Supplement (within ICC-ES report)
- Florida Building Code (FBC) Supplement (within ICC-ES report)
- Tested in accordance with ICC-ES AC491 for us in Aluminum
